Maintenance Notices
Both REDCap Production & Staging Servers are to be Shut Down for Scheduled Maintenance from 12th to 16th November 2026. Learn what REDCap Users need to do immediately and what to prepare for.
(A) WHAT THIS IS ABOUT
Following the recent critical cyber-security alert that necessitated our emergency maintenance on 22 Oct 2026, we wish to inform all REDCap Users that there will be a further round of maintenance activities to both the REDCap Production and Staging Servers.
(B) WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT
This latest around of maintenance is recommended by the REDCap Consortium as part of ongoing efforts to ensure that REDCap remains secure and reliable while continuing to provide a stable platform to support research activities across the NHG Health.
(C) WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN
Both the Production and Staging Servers will be shut down beginning at 6pm, Thur 12 Nov 2026.
Normal operations are expected to resume at 12pm, Mon 16 Nov 2026.

(D) HOW YOU ARE AFFECTED
There will be NO USER ACCESS to BOTH the PRODUCTION SERVER and the STAGING SERVER during the Shutdown period.
All REDCap Production Server activities will NOT BE AVAILABLE to Users, including but not limited to:
Data Entry
Project Design and Editing
Project Change Requests and Implementation
New Account Requests, and New Account Activation
Suspended Account Re-Activation
New Project Requests
Users will need to assess, plan and implement alternative manual data capture workflows if there is a need to continue with data collection activities during the shutdown period.
(E) CRITICAL WARNING: LOG-OFF ON TIME AND DO NOT LOGIN DURING SHUTDOWN PERIOD
During the last Shutdown, we have noticed several users who have not logged off on-time, or have attempted to login during the announced Shutdown period.

Attempting to access the system while maintenance works are in progress carries a high risk of causing severe damage not only to your own Project but potentially to other Projects on the server as well.
And such actions risk causing the maintenance process to fail, requiring the entire process to be restarted and potentially resulting in a prolonged Shutdown period.
Partial system availability during the Shutdown period does not mean it is safe to use. Even if the system appears to be accessible during the Shutdown Period, you must not login.
You must wait for an official notification from the NHG-REDCap System Administration team confirming that the servers are fully restored and safe to use before attempting to login.
Do not act on assumptions — wait for our confirmation email before resuming working on NHG-REDCap.
(F) WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
Please download and read the Shutdown User Survival Guide for what you NEED TO KNOW, WHAT TO PREPARE FOR, and what mitigation measures are available to you.
(NHG Intranet/HVPN access required)
We regret the short notice period and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
